About the Role
The Asset Management and Licensing Specialist is responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring compliance of all software, cloud, and subscription licenses for clients in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft licensing (especially New Commerce Experience – NCE), as well as a solid understanding of other vendor licensing models. The Licensing Specialist works closely with account managers, technical teams, and clients to provide accurate licensing recommendations and maintain compliance while optimizing costs.
Licensing Specialist Duties:
- Develop and manage licensing agreements and contracts
- Monitor license terms and conditions and ensure compliance (Microsoft 365, Adobe, VMWare, Pax8, Cisco, Azure, etc.)
- Identify and evaluate current and potential licensees
- Negotiate license agreements with licensees
- Develop strategies to maximize licensing revenue
- Provide guidance and advice on licensing laws, regulations and procedures
- Organize and manage licensing records
- Provide support and assistance to other departments when needed

Licensing Specialist Requirements
Microsoft 365 Certified – Fundamentals or relevant certifications
Knowledge of licensing processes and regulations
Strong understanding of SaaS, IaaS and PaaS subscription models.
Prior experience working with Microsoft Partner Center or similar CSP platform.
